Legal boilerplate, kept honest
Privacy policy

The short version
This website doesn't track you. No analytics, no ad tech, no behavioral profiling, no cross-site tracking. The only third-party code we load is an anti-bot check on our contact form, and the only data we keep is what you choose to send us through a form or the newsletter. That's it.
What we collect
- Analytics: none. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no Vercel Analytics, no Hotjar. Nothing.
- Cookies: none from us. The anti-bot check on our contact form (Cloudflare Turnstile) may set a short-lived token to confirm you're human; it isn't used to profile you or track you across sites.
- Forms: when you submit the join form, we store what you typed (your name, email, and message) in our own content system so we can reply. We don't sell it, share it, or add you to any list.
- Newsletter: opt-in only. If you sign up, your email is stored by Buttondown, our newsletter provider, to send you the newsletter. More below.
- Fonts and images: served from this domain. The typeface (IBM Plex Mono) is self-hosted, so we never call Google Fonts or any CDN that could log your IP. Sanity-hosted images, when we use them, load from cdn.sanity.io.
- Server logs: our host keeps short-lived request logs (IP, user-agent) for abuse prevention. We don't query, export, or analyze them.
Anti-bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile)
Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out. It's a privacy-first alternative to CAPTCHA: no puzzles to solve, no ad tech, and it's built not to track you across the web. It loads a small script from Cloudflare on the page with that form, and Cloudflare processes limited technical signals (like your IP and browser characteristics) to tell humans from bots. We chose it specifically because it doesn't profile or sell you. The newsletter signup doesn't use it. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for the specifics.
The newsletter
The newsletter is opt-in and runs through Buttondown. We're not assholes about it: it's only dev log updates, news about games we make, and the occasional company update. No spam, no drip funnels, no selling or sharing your address, no dark patterns. It's double opt-in, so you confirm before you ever get anything, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Buttondown stores your email to deliver the newsletter; see their privacy policy.
Our software
The games and tools we publish, starting with Noosphere, currently ship no telemetry. If we ever add anything that touches the network beyond what's needed to play (for example, Steam co-op matchmaking), it will be opt-in, documented in plain English, and off by default. Third-party platforms we build on (Steam, etc.) have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Want a copy of what you sent us, or want it deleted? Get in touch and we'll handle it. For the newsletter, the unsubscribe link removes you immediately. We hold as little as possible, so there usually isn't much to hand over.
Changes
If we ever change any of this, we'll update this page and note the change.
