The website

This site is informational. It's the public face of Trapframe Studio. You can read it, link to it, screenshot it, quote it. No login, no purchase, no account.

Our software

Our engine and simulation code is open. For Noosphere, that code lives on GitHub under the MIT and Apache 2.0 licenses. You can read it, fork it, and send pull requests. Accepted contributions to the engine earn a share of the game's net Steam revenue, on terms published in that repository.

The world, lore, art, and assets are proprietary and are not covered by that license. The game ships as a paid release on Steam, which is what funds development and pays contributors. Some third-party assets (fonts, addons, libraries) ship under their own licenses, noted alongside the relevant files.

No warranty

The site and the software are provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. The MIT and Apache 2.0 licenses, and any other applicable licenses spell this out in formal terms. The casual version: things will break, especially early on, and you accept that by using them.

Trademark

"Trapframe," "Trapframe Studio," and "Noosphere," as names of this studio and its projects, along with their logos, are unregistered marks of the studio. You're welcome to refer to us and our projects by name in reviews, fan content, mods, and articles. Don't pass off a different product as ours.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, the date above will change.
